Spiritual Activist in Residence

Help launch our new Spiritual Activist in Residence Program!

Make a donation today to  launch our Spiritual-Activist-in-Residence program. This is a twelve-month paid residency that invests in an emergent directly-impacted leader with first-hand experience in the carceral and immigration detention system. Those making a contribution of $1,000 or more will be part of the Founding Circle for this exciting new leadership program.

Come meet our inaugural Spiritual Activist in Residence, Charles Joseph, whose wisdom, leadership, and expertise will contribute to campaigns that uplift the sacredness of all people across bars and borders.

Jan 2021: Faith-Rooted Organizing Training

Now is the moment to deepen our faith and sharpen our organizing skills!

WHO: All people wanting to deepen their spiritually-rooted non-violent organizing, direct action and change making. Previous experience not required!

WHAT: This two-part training will deepen your understanding of the theory and skills of how to be an effective organizer in the world. It will help you to tap into your own deep values, motivations and visions. It will help you more fully integrate the gifts of your own faith and religious practices into your social justice work. Grounded in a feminist framework and nonviolent resistance, it will connect you to a rich organizing model and ethos that grows out of the civil rights movement, liberation struggles in other countries and worker justice struggles in the U.S.

Faith Rooted Organizing Training

Friday, January 8, 5:00-8:00 p.m. PST
Saturday, January 9, 9:00-4:00pm PST
This event will take place via Zoom, with scheduled breaks and time for lunch. Plan to attend the full two-day training to get the most of this experience.

Optional additional training:
Sunday, January 24, 1-4 p.m. Engage in Current Campaigns

IMPACT: This training has proven transformative to the veteran and novice social justice advocate alike. It is an effective way to energize yourself and others in your congregation or network and help build a common framework and ethos among colleagues. Faith Rooted Organizing invites us to move beyond winning campaigns and calls us closer to our holistic goal of building the beloved community—which we urgently need to live into.

Suggested donation for the training is $30-75. No one turned away for lack of funds.
