Aug 1, Los Angeles: AB 32: Ending For-Profit Prison Facilities and Beyond

Justice Not Jails
Come Join Our First Thursday Meeting!

Aug 1st: AB 32: Ending For-Profit Prison Facilities and Beyond

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

Location: Lincoln Memorial Church
4126 Arlington Ave. Los Angeles

Focus: We will focus on learning about the status of AB 32 which will prohibit the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from entering into a contract or renewing a contract with a for-profit, private prison facility located in or outside of the state. We will hear testimony of those impacted by for-profit, private prison facilities, and embark on a conversation on creating an alternative future without jails, prisons, and policing.

1) AB 32: We will be moving forward to ensure AB 32 becomes law by committing to take appropriate actions, i.e., district legislative office visits, phone calls, letters of support, and/or providing public testimony before the appropriate legislative body.

2) Faith Framework: Establish a framework for a faith-rooted worldview for building community and fostering restorative justice

A light dinner will be served. For more information and RSVP, please contact Rev. Larry Foy lfoy@im4humanintegrity.org

Together we will dismantle the culture of criminalization, restore our communities, and reclaim our character.

We hope you will join us.
